On this lot prior to the works, SHEPD will have completed the feasibility, route surveys and detailed design. The submarine cable will be free issued to the Contractor. The Contractor will be required to support the consenting process, install the marine cable, provide onshore construction works, cable testing, commissioning and handover.

The Employers Objectives are as follows:

• To refurbish the SM 132kV overhead lines.

This refurbishment works will consist of:

• Replace insulators and fittings.
• Suspension tower crossarm attachment channels
• Spacer replacement SM3-4, SM5-6 and Span SM17-18
• SM3 crossarm refurbishment
• Replace all step bolts and signage.

The Site is located from Southampton Millbrook, towers SM2AR to SM 18.

Multidisciplinary works within a given grid supply point including programmes of works described below:

• Programme 1 is driven primarily by 33kV and 132kV Load work and consolidates all the associated work required at that substation.
• Programme 2 is driven primarily by works at 11kV and below and similarly consolidates all the associated work required at that substation.
• Programme 3 isolates specific types of work recognised as being specialist and propose to create dedicated packages to be awarded, driven by asset class. For example, delivery of the environmental commitments for fluid filled cables and SF6 are important, and therefore target these interventions separately.
