Coverage: 25 active published awards; 0 bid reports (which may be per lot). Supplier values exclude multi-supplier awards, frameworks and DPS, and use GBP only. They are published award values, not payments. Published-to-award variance compares single-lot, single-award, single-supplier GBP procedures with explicitly non-framework/non-DPS status; increases remain in the average. Unpublished data stays unknown. Awarded suppliers are winners, not all bidders.

Planning and rationale

No-engagement rationaleNot published |
Procedure rationaleExtreme dry weather incident has resulted in reservoir stocks being substantially below the annual norm (circa 60%) which causes a risk to the provision of water services. Carbon dosing equipment is required as soon as possible to mitigate the effects of the drought. Carbon dosing equipment which is typically on a long lead time (6 months or longer) has been sourced via a supplier who have been able to deliver in less than half of this timescale after a search of the market. United Utilities are making a direct award on the basis that the equipment will be delivered in the shortest known lead-time available. |
