What is being bought
The VIP is a tertiary intervention that aims to prevent repeat victimisation and/or offending through offering timely and tailored support to 11-25's. The VIP team are based at both Euston Street Custody and in the Accident and Emergency Department, Leicester Royal Infirmary.
The aim of VIP is to contribute to the prevention and reduction of serious violence by providing an evidence-informed, tailored programme of support which positively impacts upon the risk and protective factors associated with victimisation and offending. This will be achieved by the provider:
• Drawing upon their expertise to engage young people who are at risk of or involved in serious violence in 'reachable moments' in A&E and in police custody
• Identifying and providing an appropriate and credible key worker who will work with the young person to understand their needs and interests to develop intervention plans with clear goals and to:
o Deliver activities to a young person to address risk factors and strengthen protective factors
o Identify and facilitate access to opportunities/activities and supporting the young person to sustain positive behaviour change
