Filtration Control Ltd currently supplies filtration components, batteries and associated products used across GWR's existing rolling stock fleet. Continued supply from the existing supplier is required to maintain compatibility with installed equipment and established maintenance requirements. Introducing alternative components or products may result in different or incompatible items and could require additional more…
technical assessment, testing and engineering approval. This could create disproportionate technical difficulties in operation or maintenance, additional cost and delays to fleet maintenance. The direct award will provide continuity of supply while GWR undertakes a full competitive procurement exercise in accordance with the Procurement Act 2023 for the longer-term requirement.
