The de Ferrers Trust comprises of the following schools: - The de Ferrers Academy The de Ferrers Academy is a very large, co-educational split-site secondary school with a separate Sixth Form campus. This means it has students from ages 11 to 18. The school is based in Burton upon Trent with approximately 2,400 students on roll split over its three campuses. The school was one of the first schools in Staffordshire to provide all their students from years –7 to 11 with their own iPad for use in lessons and at home, via a parental contributions scheme. The school was recently judged as good by Ofsted in December 2023. Horninglow Primary Horninglow is an all through primary school for pupils aged between 3 and 11 years in Burton upon Trent. Children enjoy an excellent start in the Early Years setting and benefit from committed and passionate staff throughout the school. The school was judged as good by Ofsted in May 2019 and has approximately 210 pupils on roll. Lansdowne Infant Lansdowne is an infant school providing education for pupils aged 3 to 7 years in Burton upon Trent. The school officially opened in 1991, which coincided with the opening of Eton Park Junior. Lansdowne is a successful academy. They pride themselves on their commitment to providing all pupils with a quality education which develops the whole child. The school is a happy, stimulating environment with a nurturing ethos. The school was judged as good by Ofsted in May 2019 and has approximately 154 pupils on roll. Eton Park Junior Eton Park is a purpose-built junior school for students between the ages of 7 and 11 years located in Burton upon Trent. They have a very generous site which includes playing fields, a hard surface playground, a trim trail, ICT lecture theatre, gardens, and a nature conservation area. At Eton Park, staff are determined that no child is left behind. Each individual is given the support and guidance to enable them to develop the skills and acquire the knowledge that will prepare them for the next stage of their school career. The school was judged as good by Ofsted in March 2023 and has approximately 210 pupils on roll. The Pingle Academy The Pingle Academy is a co-educational, comprehensive secondary school with a Sixth Form provision. This means it has students aged from 11 to 18 years. It is situated on a large secure site at the end of a quiet cul-de-sac in Swadlincote. Students benefit from a wide range of specialist facilities, including a floodlit 3G astro-turf area and a newly refurbished swimming pool. The school also has a separate Learning Support Base and Autism Resource Centre as well as a purpose built Sixth Form Centre. Staff are dedicated to ensuring that every learner’s potential is fulfilled in a happy and caring environment. They are truly inclusive and aim to remove barriers to learning and achievement in and out of the classroom. The school enjoys an excellent local reputation. The school was judged as good by Ofsted in November 2021 and has approximately 1,450 pupils on roll. Granville Academy Granville Academy is a small secondary school catering for students aged between 11 and 16 years in Woodville, Swadlincote. Granville is committed to providing academic excellence within a caring and inclusive environment. Alongside a drive for sustained academic improvement is the view that every student matters. Granville has the highest expectations for its students in all aspects of academy life and believe in developing them in each area: academic, social, moral, and cultural.
