Coverage: 46 active published awards; 0 bid reports (which may be per lot). Supplier values exclude multi-supplier awards, frameworks and DPS, and use GBP only. They are published award values, not payments. Published-to-award variance compares single-lot, single-award, single-supplier GBP procedures with explicitly non-framework/non-DPS status; increases remain in the average. Unpublished data stays unknown. Awarded suppliers are winners, not all bidders.

What is being bought
Value: £250,000 including VAT The Royal Armouries Museum is procuring the Genghis Khan Special exhibition, which includes exclusive access to unique artifacts, interpretation, and digital media related to the exhibition. This package is entirely owned and managed by Nomad Exhibitions, leveraging their specialised expertise and exclusive relationships with Mongolian lenders and authorities. Due to the unique nature of the content, access restrictions, and lack of suitable alternatives, a direct award is the most appropriate method to secure this valuable and historically significant exhibition for the Royal Armouries Museum.

Procedure rationaleJustifications: - Single supplier: possession of intellectual property or other exclusive rights. - Single supplier: absence of competition due to technical reasons and no reasonable alternatives. Explanation: This Direct Award is required to procure the Genghis Khan special exhibition from Nomad Exhibitions. This decision is based on the following justifications: • Nomad Exhibitions possesses intellectual property rights and other exclusive rights pertaining to the exhibition. The proposed exhibition package is unique to Nomad Exhibitions and solely available through them. The exhibition package includes unique/ 'one of a kind' objects, interpretation and digital media. Nomad Exhibitions have unique and specialist expertise and relationships that enable them to deliver this package of content. This includes relationships with Mongolian lenders and government that affords them, and only them, access to this specific collection material. As well as sole control to the rights and permissions relating to the IP/rights of this package. No other alternative suppliers exist for this specific package of content that would meet the Royal Armouries requirements. Nor does the Royal Armouries have the relevant in house expertise or collection material to be able to stage this exhibition in house. • The absence of competition is due to technical reasons and a lack of reasonable alternatives. The specialised nature of the exhibition, coupled with Nomad Exhibitions' exclusive access to unique artifacts, interpretation materials, and digital assets, creates a situation where no other supplier can reasonably provide an equivalent or comparable offering. The specialist expertise and established relationships with Mongolian lenders and government bodies are also critical and cannot be readily replicated. The proposed supplier has established Intellectual Property over various items to be presented within the exhibition that is not available elsewhere. Therefore, given the unique nature of the exhibition, the specialist expertise required, and the absence of viable alternatives, a Direct Award to Nomad Exhibitions represents the most appropriate and effective means of securing this valuable and historically significant exhibition for the Royal Armouries Museum.
