It involves a range of investigative activities, which will help NWS to inform assessments of the safety and suitability of sites.\nSite Characterisation enables a better understanding of the likely design and construction methodologies and therefore a higher certainty of the cost outturn. NWS must ensure they have knowledge and processes in place to meet requirements of design and safety case teams in line with regulations. \nThe scope is to provide professional services support for site characterisation activities across multiple sites. \nThe scope has been split into three Lots:\nLot 1: Site Characterisation Planning and Technical Advisory Services\nLot 2: Geological and Geophysical Interpretation and Modelling\nLot 3: Hydrogeological Interpretation and Modelling\nA pre-tender market engagement webinar on will take place at 15:00 on 14/09/2026.         "description": "The Contracting Authority, Nuclear Waste Services (NWS), would like to thank suppliers for their interest in, and responses to, the Request for Information (RFI) for the Site Characterisation Professional Services Support (SCPSS) framework opportunity published on 25 November 2025.\nFollowing a detailed review of the responses received, NWS intends to provide further clarity on the proposed framework structure, scope, procurement approach, forthcoming activities, and key themes identified through supplier feedback. To support this, NWS will host a virtual market engagement event on 9 March 2026, from 13:00 to 14:30.\nThe event will be delivered via Microsoft Teams. Suppliers wishing to participate must register their interest no later than 17:00 on 6 March 2026 via the following link: https://events.teams.microsoft.com/event/adfb2080-1855-4340-bf1e-b3cf7e7a078a@1929b5b6-230e-4b2e-837a-b96f0a9b1b56\nRegistrations should include the full names and email addresses of all proposed attendees. There is an option to submit questions at the point of registration.\nAttendance at the event will be anonymous. Any questions raised and addressed during the webinar will also be handled on an anonymous basis. Participants may submit questions through the Microsoft Teams Q&A facility during the event.
