Published requirement descriptionThe University of Southampton have developed a unique DNA based therapeutic to activate NK cells against cancer. The therapeutic is delivered intramuscularly in combination with DNA encoding the potent immune stimulating cytokine IL-15.
The objective is for an Executive to jointly work with the team to bring the opportunity towards and ultimately achieve launch of a new spinout company.

Phase 1 Opportunity Validation and Business Plan Creation - Executive leads all activity; ensures other team members support on relevant technical/ application needs inputs; if requested by Exec, UoS R&IS department will assist defining business plan requirements
Phase 2 Research organisation Approval In Principle to Spinout - Executive briefed by UoS R&IS on relevant documentation, and assisted by that team to complete this and submit to first available regular bi-monthly Southampton Enterprise Board meetings; Attendance of networking conferences to accelerate commercialisation process.
Phase 3 Achieve “Ready to Spin” status
Phase 4 Investor willingness to complete necessary funding round;

The University will incorporate a standstill period at the point information on the award of the
contract is communicated to tenderers. That notification will provide full information on the
award decision. The standstill period, which will be for a minimum of 10 calendar days,
provides time for unsuccessful tenderers to challenge the award decision before the
contract is entered into.
The Public Contracts Regulations 2015 (SI 2015 No 102) provide for aggrieved parties who
have been harmed or are at risk of harm by a breach of the rules to take action in the High
Court (England, Wales and Northern Ireland) within 30 days of knowledge or constructive
knowledge of breach.
