What is being bought
This contract award is for a ten year contract from 17.01.2022 for the provision of EPR clinical digital solutions plus any associated hardware or software to St George’s University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. The contract award includes maintenance, remote hosting, support, upgrade and support of the Cerner existing platform to bring further shared functionality for an Integrated Care System (ICS). This includes but is not limited to the following scope: Population Health Management, Millennium, Shared Domain interoperability for Epsom & St Helier Universities NHS Hospital Trust, Patient Administration System, Accident and Emergency, theatres, and other areas including clinical reporting.

    This contract has been awarded without prior publication pursuant to Regulation 32(2)(b)(ii) Public Contracts Regulations 2015, on the basis that competition is absent for technical reasons. Cerner is the existing supplier of these services to St George’s University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust under a contract due to expire June 2024. Cerner has also been successful in a mini competition under the Clinical and Digital Information Systems Framework owned by the London Procurement Partnership, to supply the same services on a shared domain to Epsom and St. Helier University Hospitals NHS Trust. As the two Trusts now operate and are governed through a Group Trust organisational structure, pursuant to their collaborative partnership for the implementation of the Electronic Patient Record system, the shared domain, and co-terminus end dates for the contracts, are necessary in order to ensure technical interoperability across the two Trusts.
