Coverage: 0 active published awards; 0 bid reports (which may be per lot). Supplier values exclude multi-supplier awards, frameworks and DPS, and use GBP only. They are published award values, not payments. Published-to-award variance compares single-lot, single-award, single-supplier GBP procedures with explicitly non-framework/non-DPS status; increases remain in the average. Unpublished data stays unknown. Awarded suppliers are winners, not all bidders.

What is being bought
Birmingham City Council (the Council) is seeking to appoint an organisation for the provision of Tourism & Hospitality Skills Bootcamp Pilot.
It has been identified by VisitEngland (the national tourist board) that one of the most significant challenges faced by tourism businesses is the recruitment and retention of staff. This was heightened by the impacts of COVID-19 and with the UK leaving the European Union. Considering tourism businesses’ ability to recruit staff, the lack of foundational people skills is perceived as the biggest challenge tourism businesses face. This was closely followed by management and leadership skills, when it comes to businesses' ability to deliver good service. Working with volunteers is another area that could be improved as some parts of the tourism sector are reliant on them.
The Council is looking for a suitably qualified and experienced organisation to develop and pilot test a five-day tourism and hospitality skills bootcamp for two cohorts.
1. Employees working in the sector are seeking to upskill and take on management or supervision responsibilities.
2. Individuals who are not in employment, education or training seeking to enter the sector.
The contract for the services will commence in November 2025 and will be in place for a period of 5 months.
The Council will be using its free to use e-tendering system (in-tend) for the administration of this procurement process and potential suppliers must register with the system to be able to express an interest.
