Welsh Government has confirmed their commitment to a lung cancer screening programme in Wales. This follows a positive recommendation from the UK National Screening Committee (endorsed by the Wales Screening Committee), a successful pilot of lung cancer screening in the North Rhondda area and the completion of a scoping report by Public Health Wales setting out an assessment of the available evidence and, from this, a recommended pathway and delivery model. Public Health Wales have completed an exploration phase of service design, user needs and technical requirements. They are now looking to appoint a Supplier to provide a Participant Administration System (PAS) to be in place for rollout of the Programme in April 2028. This will be on a managed service basis. The tender is being conducted on eTenderWales and the full tender pack is available on that platform.

| Item | Category | Quantity |

| 1 | Patient-administration system, IT services: consulting, software development, Internet and support, Medical information systems, Medical software package | Not published |
Benchmarked against retained Find a Tender procedures with CPV division 48. The category anchor is Medical software package (48180000); this is a deliberately broad market comparator. The comparison is shown at several levels rather than pretending one company or region is always the best benchmark.
| Comparison set | Procedures | Reported bids per procedure | Named award suppliers | Price evidence |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Market: CPV division 48 | 3,608 | 1 median · 6.5 average (1,197 of 3,608 with a bid count) | 1.5 average (1,375 of 3,608 with named award suppliers) | Not published |
| Same buyer | 1 | Not published | Not published | Not published |
| Delivery region: UKL | 91 | 2 median · 8.8 average (29 of 91 with a bid count) | 2.6 average (34 of 91 with named award suppliers) | Not published |
| Similar published value (0.5×–2×) | 264 | Not published | Not published | Not published |
“Reported bids” is an official aggregate, sometimes reported per lot; it is the closest available competition measure. “Named award suppliers” are winners, not all applicants.
Not enough comparable procedures currently publish both a GBP tender value and a usable lowest-valid-bid value to calculate a responsible price-reduction benchmark. Tenderline deliberately does not infer a saving from named award suppliers or from missing award values.
No planning milestones published.
No linked framework, prior procurement or reprocurement published.
Diagnostic view. “Not published” means this current release does not provide a value.
