What is being bought
Published requirement descriptionThe University has recently been awarded Capital funding from the Office for Students and wants to purchase one water jet cutting machine with control software. This equipment will be housed in the Stephenson building workshop within the School of Engineering, Faculty of Science, Agriculture and Engineering. The objectives of the equipment are summarized as follows:
- To manufacture components that will support teaching.
- To allow students to produce their own components under the supervision of the School technicians needed for their stage 3 and 4 projects.
- To allow users in the Makerspace area to also manufacture components.
- Having this machine is hoped to be used by students across the different Faculties at the University.

- Review procedure
The University will incorporate a standstill period at the point information on the award of the contract is communicated to tenderers. That notification will provide full information on the award decision. The standstill period, which will be for a minimum of 10 calendar days, provides time for unsuccessful tenderers to challenge the award decision before the contract is entered into.
The Public Contracts Regulations 2015 (SI 2015 No 102) provide for aggrieved parties who have been harmed or are at risk of harm by a breach of the rules to take action in the High Court (England, Wales and Northern Ireland) within 30 days of knowledge or constructive knowledge of breach.
