Coverage: 0 active published awards; 0 bid reports (which may be per lot). Supplier values exclude multi-supplier awards, frameworks and DPS, and use GBP only. They are published award values, not payments. Published-to-award variance compares single-lot, single-award, single-supplier GBP procedures with explicitly non-framework/non-DPS status; increases remain in the average. Unpublished data stays unknown. Awarded suppliers are winners, not all bidders.

What is being bought
Birmingham City Council requires a supplier for the provision of the development and delivery of a social marketing campaign to increase uptake of the NHS Health Checks programme across the city among eligible individuals aged 40 to 74 years old.
The NHS Health Check is one of the mandated public health services commissioned by Birmingham City Council. It is a health check-up for adults in England aged 40 to 74 years and is designed to spot early signs of:
• stroke
• kidney disease
• heart disease
• type 2 diabetes
• dementia
Anyone in this age range who does not have a pre-existing health condition should be invited to an NHS Health Check by their GP every 5 years. However, uptake of these checks remains low. In Birmingham in 2018 to 2019, 85,514 people were offered an NHS Health Check, of which 33,327 people took up the opportunity to have one.
Campaign overview
The primary aim of this health promotion programme is to increase uptake of NHS Health Checks among those who are eligible, aged 40 to 74 years old in Birmingham.
The campaign seeks to ensure that people in this age group are aware of NHS Health Checks, what they are and why they are important, and how to access them – not just for the first time when they reach 40, but on a continuous basis every 5 years until they turn 74.
It is anticipated that the contract would run from 30th July 2026 until 31st March 2027, with the campaign itself being split into two phases – the first in July/August 2026 and the second in early 2027.
