What is being bought
Published requirement descriptionThe Council is seeking to appoint three (3) successful bidders to the Framework as part of this Procurement and it is anticipated that the Framework will be fully operational by 2 November 2026 (this may be subject to change) and will continue for a period of four (4) years from that date with an option to extend, at the Council’s discretion, for up to four (4) years (two (2) years plus two (2) years) unless terminated in accordance with the Terms and Conditions of the Framework. Transfer of existing care packages are within the scope of this Procurement (see Specification), the contract values below are calculated based on current care packages.

| supplier not published | — | 26 Aug 2026 | CancelledFollowing publication of a Tender Notice with reference 2025/S 000-054957 on 9 September 2025, Southwark Council made the decision on 26 August 2026 not to proceed to the conclusion of its procurement of Children's Home Care services for the borough and instead to terminate the procurement. This procurement has been subject to a legal challenge and, following careful consideration of the issues raised during that process, The Council has concluded that it is in the best interests of residents, providers and the Council to discontinue the procurement and reconsider its future commissioning approach. Accordingly, no contract award will be made under the current procurement process. In reaching this decision, the Council has reflected on both the procurement process and the wider strategic objectives for the future delivery of Children's Home Care services within the borough to secure high quality and best value for money services that are committed to the Southwark Ethical Care Charter. The Council has also considered whether alternative commissioning and procurement arrangements may better support its long-term objectives for residents and stakeholders. In light of these considerations, and having regard to the potential resource implications of continuing what is likely to be a prolonged legal process, the Council has determined that discontinuing the current procurement represents the most appropriate course of action. |
