Funding opportunity: Help to grow peer-led parent support in Wokingham

Wokingham Borough Council will shortly be looking for an organisation to lead and grow parent-led support across the borough, creating more opportunities for parents to connect and access evidence-based support for parenting.

We’re offering £300,000 over an initial three years to deliver Empowering Parents, Empowering Communities (EPEC) – an evidence-based programme that trains parents to become lead facilitators, creating a model of support that is by parents, for parents.

The programme will be a key part of Wokingham’s Best Start in Life offer and will complement the developing Family Hub offer, alongside other parent support groups and programmes provided by schools and voluntary and community organisations.

Collaboration will be central to this opportunity. The organisation that wins this tender will need to work in close partnership with other services across the Borough, building on what already exists and working together as a community to strengthen support for parents.

Find out more about Empowering Parents, Empowering Communities (EPEC).

Find out more about Best Start in Life in Wokingham.

A virtual and in-person information session will both take place on the 22nd October at 12.30.

If your organisation could help us make parent-led support a bigger part of family life in Wokingham, we’d love to hear from you.

About this data
  • Source. Official UK public procurement notices (Find a Tender), reused under the Open Government Licence v3.0. New notices arrive through the day; the figures are rebuilt nightly.
  • Two views, kept apart. The authority’s own track record and the wider market for the same kind of work sit side by side and are never mixed. Where the local picture is too thin, a figure widens to a broader market and says which one it used.
  • Forecasts are labelled. The price forecast and its range, possible competitors and the earlier-work matches are our estimates from past awards: not published facts, not win chances and not price advice. Official notices do not say who is bidding.
  • Every figure shows what it rests on. Not every notice publishes a bid count, a value or a delivery region, so each figure carries the number of records behind it, and one built on few records is marked as such. The on a figure explains it; the counting rules are in the methodology. Spotted something wrong? Tell us.
