What is being bought
Published requirement descriptionCyson Cymru, on behalf of Newport City Council (NCC), is seeking Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) proposals for the turnkey design, installation, and commissioning of the solar farm and a DC coupled battery with a 400V grid connection at the Newport City Council’s recycling centre depot in Newport, to form a fully compliant and working installation.
It is anticipated that the EPC contract will be awarded in 2026, and the design and construction will be undertaken in 2026/7.
The Contractor will be responsible for the supply, installation, and maintenance of a solar photovoltaic and battery system (the ‘Works’) up to 1.1MWp in gross PV capacity with a 2MWh DC battery energy storage system (BESS) on the land shown in Appendix 19.3 of the Specification, and located at grid reference ST306857.
