What is being bought

Bangor University is seeking a competent Lift Maintenance Contractor to provide statutory compliance and preventative maintenance for its portfolio of passenger, goods, platform, and stair lifts. The University’s stock is aged, with many obsolete systems, and therefore a focus on minimum statutory compliance, reliability, and effective reporting is required. Bangor University would like to invite expressions of interest from suppliers who are qualified and interested in this opportunity to enable us to decide the best route to market. Core Requirements The Contractor will be required to deliver: · Statutory inspection and preventative maintenance of all lifts within scope, to comply with LOLER, PUWER, EN13015, and relevant British Standards • 24/7/365 callout service, including: • Entrapments: attendance within 1 hour (working hours) / 2 hours (out of hours). • Breakdowns: attendance within 2 hours (working hours) / 4 hours (out of hours). • Emergency release of trapped persons. • Repair and rectification of defects identified by third-party inspections (LOLER/insurance). • Proactive, preventative maintenance in accordance with manufacturer requirements and industry codes of practice. • Supply of spare parts, labour, and materials (excluding vandalism/misuse, unless agreed). • Auto-dialler installation and testing. • Compliance with statutory safety requirements for machine rooms, pits, shafts, lighting, and safe access. • Clear communication, single point of contact, and uniformed, trained engineers. Bangor University has 59 Lifts across its campuses in Bangor, Anglesey and Wrexham with varying models, ages and conditions. Year of Manufacture ranges from 1965-2023. To receive the full list of lifts, please register your interest in this notice. Further information will then be provided via email.

Comparable-procurement analytics

Benchmarked against retained Find a Tender procedures with CPV division 50. The category anchor is Lift-maintenance services (50750000); this is a deliberately broad market comparator. The comparison is shown at several levels rather than pretending one company or region is always the best benchmark.

“Reported bids” is an official aggregate, sometimes reported per lot; it is the closest available competition measure. “Named award suppliers” are winners, not all applicants.

Price-outcome signal

Not enough comparable procedures currently publish both a GBP tender value and a usable lowest-valid-bid value to calculate a responsible price-reduction benchmark. Tenderline deliberately does not infer a saving from named award suppliers or from missing award values.
