The Health Board have undertaken a subsequent procurement (BCU-FTS-60429) to award a new contract for the service requirement, however due additional scrutiny required on the commercial evaluation, this has lead to a delay in approval and submission to Welsh Government in line with the original tender timescale, as a result there is a requirement for an additional 6-month service provision from the incumbent provider, should this not progress then this poses a Health and Safety Risk
- Risks
The contract for comprehensive water hygiene services and maintenance. The contractor will be responsible for a full spectrum of water hygiene activities, including the regular inspection, testing, and monitoring of water systems to prevent bacterial contamination, such as Legionella. This will also include routine maintenance of water treatment equipment, such as filters, heaters, and storage tanks, as well as the implementation and management of risk assessments and water safety plans for all BCUHB facilities covered by the contract. In addition, the contractor will provide emergency response and corrective actions in the event of contamination incidents and maintain detailed reporting of all maintenance activities, inspection results, and compliance records.
