Published requirement descriptionNHS Thames Valley Integrated Care Board (the Commissioner) has completed a Most Suitable Provider process in accordance with the Health Care Services (Provider Selection Regime) Regulations 2023 for the provision of a Women's Health Hub for Berkshire West (Reading, Wokingham and West Berkshire).
The service will provide accessible, community-based women's health services, delivering shorter waits and high-quality evidence-based care for women across Berkshire West, including support for menopause, menstrual health and wider gynaecological conditions.
Following assessment of provider submissions against the published Basic Selection Criteria and Key Criteria, the Commissioner has identified The Primary Care Alliance Community Interest Company as the Most Suitable Provider.
The proposed contract duration is 30 months with an anticipated service commencement date of October 2026.
The total contract value is £2,523,262 excluding VAT.
The Commissioner has published this notice in accordance with Regulation 10 of the Health Care Services (Provider Selection Regime) Regulations 2023 and will observe the mandatory standstill period before entering into the contract.

Publisher note: The decision to identify The Primary Care Alliance Community Interest Company as the Most Suitable Provider was made by NHS Thames Valley Integrated Care Board following completion of the Most Suitable Provider assessment and moderation process. No declared conflicts or potential conflicts of interest were identified during the decision-making process. In identifying the Most Suitable Provider, the Commissioner assessed providers against the Key Criteria and Basic Selection Criteria. The Key Criteria and relative weightings were: Quality and Innovation: 10% Value: 20% Integration, Collaboration and Sustainability: 30% Improving Access, Reducing Health Inequalities and Facilitating Choice: 30% Social Value: 10% The weighting methodology was designed to reflect the Commissioner's objectives for the service. Particular emphasis was placed on Integration, Collaboration and Sustainability and Improving Access, Reducing Health Inequalities and Facilitating Choice, which together represented 60% of the overall assessment. This reflected the importance of delivering a service that is fully integrated within the Berkshire West health and care system, works effectively with local providers and partners, improves access to care, supports underserved populations and delivers sustainable services closer to home. Following assessment and moderation of all submissions, the Commissioner concluded that The Primary Care Alliance Community Interest Company represented the Most Suitable Provider. The provider demonstrated the strongest evidence of existing integration within the Berkshire West health and care system, including established relationships across primary care, existing women's health service delivery, local workforce arrangements, digital interoperability, and established pathways supporting the Berkshire West population. The Commissioner concluded that these factors provided the strongest overall alignment with the assessment criteria and service requirements.
