Payment obligations depend on the applicable regime and contract. Consult the official documents.
Coverage: 3 active published awards; 0 bid reports (which may be per lot). Supplier values exclude multi-supplier awards, frameworks and DPS, and use GBP only. They are published award values, not payments. Published-to-award variance compares single-lot, single-award, single-supplier GBP procedures with explicitly non-framework/non-DPS status; increases remain in the average. Unpublished data stays unknown. Awarded suppliers are winners, not all bidders.

Procedure rationaleThere is no alternative to the CUSA device. There are alternatives which operate in a different manner (e.g. Aquamantis, Harmonic) however none of these allow the precise dissection and ligation of critical liver structures such as biliary pedicles and hepatic veins. In addition, from my experience very few, if any liver surgeons would contemplate carrying out major liver resection without CUSA. The incidence if bile leak post liver resection with CUSA is low (happy to provide my figures) which significantly reduces post-operative morbidity, hospital stay and expenditure (e.g., ERCP). The use of CUSA ensure the safe use of liver surgery for patient at RMH.
