Coverage: 29 active published awards; 29 bid reports (which may be per lot). Supplier values exclude multi-supplier awards, frameworks and DPS, and use GBP only. They are published award values, not payments. Price reduction compares single-lot, single-award, single-supplier GBP procedures with explicitly non-framework/non-DPS status; increases remain in the average. Unpublished data stays unknown. Awarded suppliers are winners, not all bidders.

Planning and rationale

No-engagement rationaleNot published |
Procedure rationaleThe design of the ISIS accelerator is completely unique in the world of accelerators, and is the only one of its kind in the world which requires chokes of this size. Trench has the manufacturing capability to actually produce chokes of this size and nature. All component parts of the chokes, including the windings, are ‘bespoke’ and are not available as off-the-shelf items; nor have they been supplied to any other customer. They are therefore, unique to ISIS. STFC does not currently have any details of the exact manufacturing methods required to construct these windings. The IP for this method is owned by Trench Austria GmbH, as well as all the technical drawings. |
