Official UK procurement notice
Tympanic Thermometers and Associated Consumables
Authority: Gloucestershire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (Central government)
What is being bought
Published requirement descriptionThe Trust is undertaking a pre-market engagement exercise to gain a better understanding of the current market for tympanic thermometers and associated disposable probe covers. The information gathered will help inform the development of the procurement strategy, specification, evaluation criteria and overall requirement. This engagement does not constitute a commitment to commence a procurement process and is intended solely to gather market intelligence and supplier feedback.
The Trust is interested in understanding the range of tympanic thermometer solutions currently available, including device functionality, clinical performance, technological developments and options for deployment across a variety of healthcare settings, including inpatient wards, outpatient departments, emergency care areas and theatre services.
Through this pre-market engagement, the Trust aims to develop a comprehensive understanding of the available market solutions, supplier capabilities, emerging innovations and potential procurement options in order to inform the future procurement of tympanic thermometers and associated probe covers.
The Trust will contact all suppliers who participated once the pre‑market engagement has closed, to arrange a supplier feedback meeting. We expect these meetings to take place before 11 December 2026.
