Published requirement descriptionThe Bernicia Group are looking to appoint contractors offering specialised arbourcultural services, including but not limited to reactive and planned tree pruning works, planting of new and replacement trees, tree felling and stump removal, tree surveys and various other related tree maintenance.
This will be split between two lots:
Lot 1 - Tree Works and Maintenance
Lot 2 - Tree Surveys

The work will involve all aspects of maintenance of trees including (but not limited to): limb/branch removal, pruning, removal of suckers and epitomic shoots, crown lifting, thinning and reduction, re-pollarding, removal of deadwood, felling stump removal of soft and hard areas, poisoning of stumps and roots, root pruning, basic tree inspection, climbing inspection and possibly tree planting.
Monthly contract management meetings would be required at Bernicia offices to ensure KPI’s are met and to discuss the projected programme plan. This should include a monthly maintenance report manged by the successful bidder.

Contractors must be able to undertake a tree inspection and survey service in response to enquiries received by Bernicia and to be able to report back findings within a time scale set by Bernicia. Ensure that the cyclical programme is maintained and adhered to following the timelines set by Bernicia. This will be a 5-year cyclical programme.

Please see this as notice of Market Engagement for the Tree Surveys and Maintenance project for the Bernicia Group. In the attached documents for this project you will find a draft specification and a table of the approximate breakdown of trees by each area. Our aims of this exercise are as follows:
- To give any potential interested parties exposure to what is required.
- To ask for any feedback or comments on the specification.
- An indication or estimate of the potential day rates that would be charged based on the info provided.
- Depending on the number of responses – an opportunity to feedback verbally as well (As per Procurement Act 2023 – all discussions would be recorded and shared publicly.)
Not taking part would not have any impact on a potential tender process though we would encourage anyone interested in the potential opportunity to share their input. This is purely an open Market Engagement Exercise.
