Contract Award for The Provision of Real Time Passenger Information Displays for Bus Shelters

Rhondda Cynon Taf County Borough Council has procured the supply, installation, commissioning and associated support of Real Time Passenger Information (RTPI) displays for bus shelters at various locations throughout the County Borough. The Contract will be procured under the Government Commercial Agency (GCA) Transport Technology Framework, Lot 8e: Active and Passive Infrastructure - Detectors, Information and Communication Technology. The requirement supports the provision of real-time public transport information to improve the passenger experience and accessibility of bus services across Rhondda Cynon Taf. The Contract shall remain in place for a period of 5 years from the date the order is issued. The option to extend is up to two additional years at the Authority's discretion. The estimated year one charges is £499,870 (Excluding VAT). Following the first contract year, expenditure will vary dependant on operational requirements but its anticipated to be approximately £200,000 (excluding VAT) dependant on future funding availability. This Contract also allows for additional purchases of equipment that covers RCT areas for real time passenger information displays.
