Scope
This specification is for the provision of an Appropriate Adult and Triage Service for Derbyshire Constabulary. The requirements include;
- Deployment of appropriately trained staffing and/or volunteers within 60 minutes on a 24 hour, 7 days a week, 365 days a year basis on an on call basis for people of all ages detained for interview by Derbyshire Constabulary at Police stations about their suspected involvement in a criminal offence.
- Provision of advice and support, in line with legislation, to facilitate effective communication between the Police and the detainee (interviewee) in custody so that they understand what is happening to them at all times and their welfare is safeguarded throughout their time in Police custody.
- Initial screening of any additional needs/services the detainee may have.
- Additional needs that are identified are recorded and forwarded to the local authority for early intervention where necessary i.e. substance misuse, mental health, accommodation.
- Liaise with parent/carers to establish why a family member could not attend the Police Station signpost for further support where required.
- Record and monitor information in relation to the callout and any follow up from the callout.
- Price carries 40 of 100 points: a 10% discount moves about 4 points. The method statement decides this lot, not the discount.
Price arithmetic assumes straight proportional scoring; the tender pack may use another formula.
