Coverage: 8 active published awards; 8 bid reports (which may be per lot). Supplier values exclude multi-supplier awards, frameworks and DPS, and use GBP only. They are published award values, not payments. Published-to-award variance compares single-lot, single-award, single-supplier GBP procedures with explicitly non-framework/non-DPS status; increases remain in the average. Unpublished data stays unknown. Awarded suppliers are winners, not all bidders.

What is being bought
Police in the UK currently use conducted energy devices (CEDs), specifically various Taser™ models manufactured by Axon. Enterprise Inc. The authorisation of any new CED in the UK requires significant and rigorous independent scientific and technical assessment. This testing ensures all necessary safety standards are met, alongside continued operational reliability when using the device against those who are violent or threaten violence. The Home Office are exploring options for independent testing of CEDs against specified testing requirements which would potentially be overseen in person by government officials.

The Home Office is seeking input from test facilities that would be able to undertake testing to defined specifications for CEDs. Currently assessments are conducted within government. The Authority is exploring options for partnering with independent test facilities that are capable of conducting physical assessments of devices, for example in terms of reliability, robustness or performance. Any CEDs and related consumables (e.g. cartridges) for assessment would be provided by the Authority
