What is being bought
Generally: • structural steel repairs, • preparation to SA2 ½ off site / ST3 in- situ standard of cleanliness to bright steel and, • application of a three/two coat paint system over the entire footbridge. • Concrete repairs as per the contract scope. • Vegetation clearance and associated ecologist services. • Construction of a haul to the site from Idris Davies Comprehensive school. • Site works are to be undertaken during Idris Davies Comprehensive school’s 2025 summer holidays starting on the 21st July 2025 and concluding on the 31st August 2025. It is the Authority’s intension for the bridge to be open for public access on the 1st September 2025 for pupil access / egress. • Removal of the existing 6mm thick checker deck plate and replace with new plates as per the existing arrangement. • For Option 2 Only, the Client wishes for the contractor to propose a suitable polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) bearing insert to be included between the top and bottom of the free end bearings. The contractor must endeavor to select the minimum thickness of PTFE practicable to minimise raising the finished level of the bridge whilst accommodating any likely impost actions / forces etc.
