This also includes manned guarding services at The Cube, Bowling Green Road, Tithe Barn Offices, and the William Knibb Centre. These services are critical to maintaining continuous site safety and security control.
The contract start date is 15 June 2026, this is an 8 month contract. Due to delays in the contract award process, the UK6 notice could not be published on that date. The notice is therefore being issued at the earliest available opportunity.

This interim direct award is being made to 1st Reaction Security Ltd for the provision of essential security services across multiple corporate properties manged by North Northamptonshire Council. The scope of services includes manned guarding, static security at vacant sites, key holding, CCTV monitoring and emergency response services. days (estimated value £444,744) which represents the minimum timeframe required to safely execute a fully compliant procurement exercise and ensure an achievable mobilisation period. A direct award is necessary due to extreme operational urgency following the expiry of previous contract arrangements. A total cessation or sudden withdrawal of these security measures would expose Council assets, corporate offices and vacant sites to significant safety risks, property damage and severe public service disruption. The risk of asset vulnerability and immediate insurance implications means a competitive tender cannot be completed in the immediate timeframe required to protect these premises. To ensure a return to full competitive tension, the Council's procurement and service department teams are actively progressing a long-term 3+1+1 year contract route to market. This long term requirement will be openly competed through the YPO Building in Use - Support Services DPS - 879 to streamline market engagement and secure long-term compliance.
