What is being bought
Published requirement descriptionHook Parish Council is looking for a local, ecologically based organisation to manage Bassetts Mead as a SANG for up to a 5-year period.
The organisation must provide strong evidence of having managed and maintained a SANG site, which will include construction and repairing countryside infrastructure, having the ability to organise volunteer working parties, to manage contractors and have the ability to graze and manage cattle at Bassetts Mead, as well engaging with the public.
The successful organisation will be expected to work closely with the Environment and Community (E&C) Officer, with the expectation to attend quarterly meetings to ensure that each area of the site is maintained to the highest level.

Lot awarding rule: Timeline of Tender • Tuesday 8th September 2026 12pm - Closing date of advert on Find a Tender • Wednesday 16th September - All bids received before the closing date, will be presented to the Environment and Community Committee at Septembers meeting. where a shortlist of applicants will be agreed and invited for interview with Councillors to discuss their tender in more detail. The award criteria will be made on the following: Value for money Proven track record of providing a prompt reliable service. A clear management strategy of how the site will be managed. Once this meeting has taken place, the E&C Officer will provide an update to each applicant on when a final decision will likely to be.
