UKRI is seeking to engage a specialist roofing and building envelope contractor with the relevant technical expertise and experience in roofing, maintenance, repairs and associated building envelope works. The requirement is intended to support both reactive maintenance and planned refurbishment more…
works. The current arrangements require individual works to be procured separately, which can result in additional procurement activity, delays and resource requirements. The intention is to appoint a specialist provider rather than a general facilities management provider or intermediary, to ensure the required technical expertise is available directly through the contract and to minimise unnecessary additional management arrangements. The proposed contract will provide UKRI with an established supplier capable of responding to individual requirements as they arise throughout the contract term. The anticipated contract duration is three years, with an optional one-year extension, with an estimated total value of £5 million excluding VAT. The purpose of this pre-market engagement is to gather market intelligence, validate the proposed service requirements, understand current supplier capability and capacity, explore mobilisation approaches and commercial models, and identify any considerations that should be reflected in the final procurement strategy and Invitation to Tender.
