Coverage: 15 active published awards; 15 bid reports (which may be per lot). Supplier values exclude multi-supplier awards, frameworks and DPS, and use GBP only. They are published award values, not payments. Published-to-award variance compares single-lot, single-award, single-supplier GBP procedures with explicitly non-framework/non-DPS status; increases remain in the average. Unpublished data stays unknown. Awarded suppliers are winners, not all bidders.

Procedure rationaleThe Vehicle Recovery Service is a vital service to both Warwickshire Police and the general public to ensure the safety of road users and to facilitate the continued flow of traffic across Warwickshire's busy roads network. The Vehicle Recovery Service is broken into 3 geographical locations to allow reasonable response times.
An open tender broken into Lots for the geographical areas concluded 18 March 2022 with bids received for all Lots except for the Lot covering South Warwickshire. The opportunity for South Warwickshire only was re-advertised on the 25 April 2022 and again on the 26 May 2022, no bids were received for either of these advertised opportunities.
With the market expressing no interest, GRS as the incumbent supplier for the South Warwickshire Vehicle Recovery Service and having the prerequisite accreditations and skills were considered best suited to continue this essential service, therefore GRS have been awarded the contract.
Warwickshire Police intends to run further procurement competition for Vehicle Recovery Services once the current contracts have expired and extensions if used have been exhausted. |
