Extreme urgency brought about by events unforeseeable for the contracting authority/entity and in accordance with the strict conditions stated in the directive
- Published justification
The Contracting Authority made a direct award under Regulation 32(2)(c) of the Public Contract Regulations 2015 in order to secure additional hospital capacity and services throughout Wales to support the National Health Service during its response to the COVID-19 pandemic. Due to events that were unforeseeable by the Contracting Authority (i.e. the covid-19 pandemic), the time limits for the open or restricted procedures with negotiation could not be complied with.
Publisher note: Additional capacity secured at BMI on behalf of Hywel Dda University Health Board (4,867,267.00 GBP). Additional capacity secured at Spire Healthcare on behalf of Cardiff and Vale University Health Board and Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board (10,592,112.00 GBP). Additional capacity secured at Nuffield Health on behalf of Cwm Taf Morgannwg University Health Board (4,095,232.00 GBP). Additional capacity secured at Healthcare Management Trust on behalf of Swansea Bay University Health Board (1,354,096.00 GBP).
