What is being bought
Herefordshire Council made a commitment in 2020 to resettle at least 125 refugees by the middle of 2025. A total of 84 Afghan people were resettled through the Afghan Relocations and Assistance Policy (ARAP) and Afghan Citizens’ Resettlement Scheme (ACRS) during 2022/23. The Council has now made the decision to undertake a second phase of resettlement during Autumn 2023 into Summer 2024. The service will deliver a property furnishing and set up function to allow for suitable properties to be used to accommodate Afghan Refugees and Ukrainians across up to 50 properties. Accommodation will consist of a mix of houses and flats of varying sizes and will include a mix of 1, 2, 3 and 4 bedroom properties. The purpose of the contract is to co-ordinate and deliver the redecoration, carpeting / flooring, furnishing and set up of up to 50 properties.
