What is being bought
Specialist Explosive Ordinance Demolition, Exploitation & Countermeasures (SEEC) Delivery Team (DT) – the Authority - are considering initiating a project to procure and support explosive material identification equipment. The MOD requires a person-portable, deployable and robust identification capability that allows explosive samples to be placed directly onto a surface, and a person-portable, deployable and robust through barrier identification capability to conduct search of buildings and other infrastructure to give immediate indication of the presence or lack of explosive material for common and bespoke explosive threat substances, or components thereof, permitting subsequent activity. The Authority will be purchasing 60 detectors to equip 60 search teams. The capabilities may be delivered by separate pieces of equipment or combined within one piece of equipment. The requirement will also include an in-service package which may include but not limited to: spares provision, repairs services, safety and environmental management, obsolescence management, technical support etc.
The intention is to award a 5-year contract plus 2 option years to a supplier for each capability deliver this requirement. The estimated value of this requirement is £13M.

Requests will be treated on a first come first serve basis, due to the limited availability during DSEI not all requests may be able to be accommodated.
All information provided at this stage shall not be used by the Authority to down select but shall help inform the development of the requirement and contracting strategy only.
