What is being bought
Published requirement descriptionThere is a large and growing number of research groups from multiple schools across the Faculty of Science, Agriculture and Engineering at Newcastle University which would benefit from the rapid and cost-efficient prototyping capabilities of a maskless aligner for optical lithography. Therefore, we are looking to purchase a maskless aligner for optical lithography to meet this growing need.
Such a system will enable us to rapidly and cost-efficiently fabricate electronic, photonic, and mechanical devices with microscale precision, high throughput, and superior reliability, thereby accelerating our University’s research productivity and allowing us to explore new research frontiers on the microscale. The scope of this contract is for the supply, delivery and help in installation of the equipment detailed in Invitation to Tender document to the University, with after-sales support and 24 months warranty and maintenance.

- Review procedure
The University will incorporate a standstill period at the point information on the award of the
contract is communicated to tenderers. That notification will provide full information on the
award decision. The standstill period, which will be for a minimum of 10 calendar days, provides time for unsuccessful tenderers to challenge the award decision before the contract is entered into.
The Public Contracts Regulations 2015 (SI 2015 No 102) provide for aggrieved parties who have been harmed or are at risk of harm by a breach of the rules to take action in the High Court (England, Wales and Northern Ireland) within 30 days of knowledge or constructive knowledge of breach.
