North Shields Ferry Landing Relocation Design & Build

The contractor will be required to:

a) Conduct full design responsibilities, including studies, investigations, modelling and calculations to inform the design process.

b) Obtain any further necessary consents, licenses, permissions and leases from relevant authorities including liaison with consenting authorities, application submissions and compliance with consent conditions.

c) Develop detailed design information and construction method statements, subject to review and approval by the Project Manager and Engineer.

d) Take full responsibility for the content and preparation of all consent submissions, including fees and charges.

e) Execute all construction activities required to complete the project according to the Scope outlined in the Client's Requirements documents.

f) Commit to social value contract conditions, manage public consultation and maintain positive stakeholder relations with all interested parties.

g) Ensure resources are available to provide Nexus with any required details to support the grant funding conditions for the development.

h) Ensure the recently approved outline planning consent conditions are discharged.

The Contract is NEC4 Engineering and Construction Contract (ECC) Option C with bespoke amendments.

Stage One Works Early Works (as outlined in Part 1 of Schedule 3):

• Pre-commencement planning discharge documents
• Mobilisation & welfare
• Landside works
• Pontoon, linkspan & bank seat installation
• Jetty extension
• Existing terminal removal
• Detailed design
• Stage 2 target cost and programme

Stage Two Balance of the Works:

• Scope to be agreed upon by the client and contractor at the end of Stage One, prior to entering Stage Two

Financial Cap:

• The works in Stage One are capped at a budget of £1,600,000.
