Coverage: 27 active published awards; 27 bid reports (which may be per lot). Supplier values exclude multi-supplier awards, frameworks and DPS, and use GBP only. They are published award values, not payments. Published-to-award variance compares single-lot, single-award, single-supplier GBP procedures with explicitly non-framework/non-DPS status; increases remain in the average. Unpublished data stays unknown. Awarded suppliers are winners, not all bidders.

What is being bought
As part of our claims management function, NHS Resolution can agree to pay claims for compensation on a periodical basis for the duration of the claimant’s lifetime. We currently have approximately 2,500 periodical payment cases and this number is likely to increase each year. Majority of these cases are paid annually in December. Approximately 15% (30 - 40 a month), are paid at various other points in the year depending on the terms of the settlement agreement. The liability to make payments ceases upon the death of the claimant.

We are currently considering procuring a mortality screening service to add to our processes for confirming an ongoing entitlement to a periodical payment.
