What is being bought
Published requirement descriptionNHSD&G wishes to appoint a Contractor to provide Window Cleaning Services throughout Dumfries & Galloway in line with the requirements of: “Design for safety in use and during cleaning of windows, including door-height windows and roof windows – Code of practice” BS 8213-1:2004, Windows Doors & Rooflights BS EN 7985, “Safe Use of Aluminium Ladders” BS EN 2037 and “Safe Use of Wood Ladders” BS 1129. The works indicated above shall enable the Client to demonstrate compliance with the relevant sections of Health & Safety at Work Act 1974 and supporting documentation such as COSHH Regulations 2002, Working from Height Regulations 2005, IPAF trained, PASMA trained, and any other relevant guidance, legislation or competences applicable to the works associated with this contract.

It is requirement of this contract that bidder responsible for carrying out the contract must hold CHAS Advanced accreditation.
It is requirement of this contract that bidder responsible for carrying out the contract must be a certified member of the British Window Cleaning Academy (BWCA) or equivalent.
- Economic & financial standing
This section refers to Section B of Part 4 of the SPD and covers questions 4B.1.1 – 4B.5.3. Responses shall be scored on a pass fail basis as set out in the Scope of Works
- Technical & professional ability
This section refers to Sections C&D of Part 4 of the SPD and covers questions 4C.1 to 4C.10 and 4D.1 to 4D.2. Responses shall be scored as set out in the Scope of Works.

- Names and qualifications of delivery staff must be submitted
- Price carries 60 of 100 points: a 10% discount moves about 6 points. This one is won on the number: sharpen the price before polishing the prose.
