The service supports Rochdale’s Community Safety Plan to reduce the fear of crime, deter crime, detect crime, provide evidence of offences and support Police operations. One of the primary objectives is to support and enhance Police operations and evidence gathering to assist with the provision of a safe and secure environment within the borough and to support the efficient detection and prosecution of criminal and anti-social behaviour. The service provider must work collaboratively and cooperatively with Greater Manchester Police (GMP) during the contract period. The Council’s surveillance cameras will also support civil contingency duties and will from time to time be required to observe and report live community environmental conditions on request. KEY OBJECTIVES The CCTV service must be one that: a) Is cost efficient and quality driven b) achieves the standards laid out by British Standards on the management and operation of CCTV systems c) achieves the requirements of national standards, best practice for the management and operation of CCTV systems d) ensures best practice and innovation fostering measurable, continuous service improvement e) works with the Police and Council Partners in the investigation of criminal offences, protecting citizens of the borough and supporting emergency planning responses f) ensures a sympathetic and flexible response to any unplanned occurrence g) the Contractor must ensure that all staff are accredited to relevant SIA training and examinationContract periodNot publishedEligibilityNot publishedOptions / renewalNot published
