A competitive tender was undertaken seeking to award to a provider for the provision of Deprivation of Liberties Services providing Independent Best Interests Assessors (BIAs) and Section 12-approved doctor assessments to help meet the council's legal duties under the Mental Capacity Act 2005 and Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards (DoLS).

The contract is to be awarded for a period of 5 plus an optional 1 year extension (a total of 6 years).

The value of the contract will be £666k annually and if all 6 years are provided the total contract value is £3,996k

    The London Borough of Hillingdon Council seeks competent and experienced providers of Deprivation of Liberties Service Contracts to meet for a Provider Engagement event at the Civic Centre in Uxbridge on the 23rd June 2025 at 1.30 pm This is for the provision of services of Best Interest more…Assessments, Section 12 Doctor Assessments and Out of Borough Paid Representatives. The engagement event will include deprivation of liberties services and advocacy services. Register your attendance by email (by the end of 19th June) to [email protected] with "Provider Engagement - Deprivation of Liberties Services" in the email subject. If you are unable to attend in person, we can email you the information after the event. The session will provide an opportunity for interested providers to understand the service requirements whilst having the opportunity to offer views and comments, helping to ensure that the proposed approach is clear, achievable and aligned to Hillingdon's requirements. Providers will be able to seek clarification to prepare for the forthcoming tender process.
