The authority is seeking to secure the provision of a 12 Lead ECG Remote
Interpretation Service, by commissioning this service, it is anticipated that the
following outcomes will be achieved:
- Improved clinical outcomes for service users
- Improved service user experience of cardiac care
- Delivery of a fast, comprehensive service that is cost effective
- Freeing-up of clinician time in general practice
- Surety that ECG readings are interpreted by subject experts, whereas GPs
may not see ECGs regularly enough to confidently interpret the hundreds of
possible variations
- Avoidance of unnecessary referrals of service users to secondary care
- Consistency of service provision across Kirklees.
1.3 The clinical objective of the service is to provide service users access to ECG
testing, interpretation and reporting within a primary care setting to ensure
prompt diagnosis and condition management.
