Explanation: Following receipt of a representation in relation to the ongoing competition process for dental services, NHSE944, the relevant authority was unable to award contract in line with the published timeline. The modification extends the current contract by 6 months, for the period 1st April 2025 to September 30th 2025, Need for modification brought about by circumstances which a diligent contracting authority/entity could not foresee: The relevant authority has received a representation in relation to its procurement of Dental Services (Lot 3) (Procurement reference number - NHSE944) and as such the contract could not be awarded in line with the published timeline. The contract for the service with the incumbent provider was due to expire on 31st March 2025. The relevant authority has decided that an urgent modification is required to extend the current contract for the service by 6 months, to expire on 30th September 2025, to maintain continuity of the service while the representation is brought to a conclusion. The relevant authority has issued an urgent contract to the incumbent provider for the delivery of the dental services at HMYOI Wetherby from April 1st 2025 - September 30th 2025 In view of the urgency, the current provider was the only provider able to provide services to preserve service continuity.
