What is being bought
The Network Rail Training Technology Team are committed to moving away from focussing on and investing in ‘fixing today’s problems’ and moving towards investing in transformational initiatives aligning to the strategy. The requirement is for supplier/suppliers to build, implement and operate the work packages below aligning with learning methods and with approval from Cabinet Office Spend Controls process.
Network Rail has a requirement to increase the learning capability maturity within the Training Department. The initiative is to move into learning in the flow of work instead of training being pushed to the learners. To get to this place we need to design, build, implement and operate the below work packages aligning with learning methods:
• Work Package 1 - Rationalise and consolidate the existing technology estate to align with the TIME analysis already been carried out by the strategy team.
• Work Package 2 – Deliver a new data platform and embed integration layer
• Work Package 3 - Build, Implement and Operate a Learning Experience Platform (Learning Experience Platform)
• Work Package 4 - Build, Implement and Operate a Learning Management System (Learning Management System)
• Work Package 5 - Service Management
• Work Package 6 – Innovation- Execute Proofs of Value

Network Rail may be looking to tender this requirement in the near future, any potential tender event in relation to this requirement will maybe issued via the Network Rail procurement platform – BravoNR, issued through the Technology - Supplier Qualification System (SQS), under one of the following categories Software as a Service - Learning and Knowledge Management The SQS has been established to provide a single platform for suppliers to register against multiple technology specific categories. Qualification will negate the need for a supplier to complete Network Rail’s mandatory and discretionary questions every time they are invited to participate in a competitive process. Registered and qualified suppliers on the SQS can be considered by Network Rail for contract opportunities without further notification of requirements published via Find a Tender Service.
