Procedure rationaleThe Cardiff and Vale University Health Board's (CAV) contract with the City of Cardiff Council's Trade Waste Service will be extended from October 2021 to 31st August 2022. The extension of this contract will allow for CAV to be part of an all Wales contract that will potentially cover all NHS Wales Health Boards and Trusts. The relevant procurement team are determining a procurement strategy for this arrangement in conjunction with stakeholders across Wales. The waste collection service requires an implementation period for any incoming provider. The implementation would require allocated resource from any supplier and the UHB and this is not commercially viable for a short term extension / contract. The VEAT is being used to extend the contract for an additional 11 months to align with the all Wales plans. |
