Published justification
Procurement of fire doors due to the limited timescale associated with this year's fire door scheme. Sentry doors were delivered as part of previously competed open tender, so award basis is Sch.5 S7 to ensure technical continuity. Intention is to compete 26/27 fitout, and run full 27/28 tender for supply and install. Production lead time for the doors is 8-12 weeks. The risk is if door ordering is left until the more…fitting supplier has been appointed, the doors will still be looking at delivering as late as the last week of March, compressing the fitting programme and putting delivery of the scheme at risk. Ordering the doors separately and in advance also allows the Trust to compete the fitting works, minimising the total Direct Award value needed. This is achieved by the overall programme no longer being constrained by door lead times.
