What is being bought
Published requirement descriptionDCC bus station cleaning contracts are currently managed by DCC Building Facilities Management (BFM) team. BFM are no longer able to provide the service. Transport Infrastructure require cleaning contracts for all 5 sites:
Bishop Auckland Bus Station
Consett Bus Station
Durham Bus Station
Peterlee Bus Station
Stanley Bus Station
The hours of operation and the duties are dependent on the individual site requirements.
- Not divided into lots: The opportunity is issued as a single contract without Lots. This is following Preliminary Market Engagement which showed commercial interest for all locations and commercial benefit for the DCC by leveraging spend. This approach also allows providers to provide absence cover and Contract Manager more effectively across all venues.

- Cleaning Standards, The Parking & Transport Infrastructure team will conduct weekly general inspections of each bus station to check all tasks listed on cleaning schedule are completed.
- Cleaning Schedule, The Parking & Transport Infrastructure team will conduct 2 thorough inspections each year and findings reported to the Provider.
- Cleaning Materials, The provider is required to have appropriate cleaning materials available at all times. Any delays to deliveries of materials must be reported to the Contract Manager, providing evidence of attempts made to source materials and estimated timescale for delivery.
