Winter Operations - Friesland Farm

The contract provides for the operation of Friesland Farm as a dedicated winter maintenance location, supporting the delivery of the Council's gritting and highway winter service. This includes the efficient loading of gritters with road salt to enable rapid deployment across established routes, together with the organisation and stacking of salt supplies to ensure safe handling, maximize storage capacity, and maintain operational accessibility. The service also includes the secure on-site storage of gritting vehicles and salt, ensuring critical resources are readily available for immediate use, as well as the provision of welfare facilities for operational staff, including rest areas and washroom facilities, to support personnel working during winter service operations.
