What is being bought
The successful Supplier will be required to provide Catering services for Whitgreave Primary School. The catering service provision at the schools has been operated by Aspens and has not been market tested for 3 years.     Whitgreave Primary School has 459 pupils (2022-23 roll)here are entitled to 178 UFSM/ 243 FSM At Whitgreave Primary School, we aim to: •Support each and every pupil, to achieve their full potential, both academically and personally, celebrating achievements, both within and outside of school. •Nurture and develop self-esteem and a self-belief for all pupils, so that pupils are prepared to take risks with their learning and learn from their mistakes. •Provide a safe, secure and stimulating environment, whereby teaching and learning is challenging, engaging and inspiring, providing tools to aid enjoyment and enthusiasm, in order to reach the ultimate goal – success. •Empower all pupils to develop ownership of their own learning, thus fostering motivation and a love of learning, whilst building resilience, so that all pupils have the strength to overcome obstacles and barriers to their learning. •Foster an ethos of high expectations and aspirations for all. •Support each and every pupil to develop self-respect and to respect the opinions, feelings and possessions of others. •Provide all pupils with an equal opportunity to learn, share their opinions and to take part in all aspects of school life at Whitgreave, along with opportunities to develop life skills and experiences within the local Community and wider world. •Create a happy and friendly learning environment for all members of the Whitgreave Team, so that everyone feels valued and everyone feels welcome. •Encourage the involvement of parents and carers in school life, working in partnership together, whilst encouraging and supporting parents and carers to develop their own skills and experiences. •Develop an ethos, which underpins all aspects of school life, where everybody matters, everyone counts. SMSC: Spiritual. There are other objectives which the schools wish to achieve as a result of this tender process: 1.The provision of a healthy balanced menu that meets nutritional guidelines and is enjoyed by our students. 2.Increase the take up of meals for all, including paid meals, FSM and UIFSM. 3.School Council to work with the Chef, termly to express opinion about proposed menus. 4.An effective marketing campaign should be implemented including the organisation of a series of theme days throughout the year ~ a minimum of two each term. 5.A key requirement is for the successful contractor to provide support, training and development to the onsite catering staff. 6.To ensure that all hospitality is provided strictly at net cost of ingredients. 7.Provide a pre order service for the school staff. The chosen Supplier will have as a minimum The Soil Association Food for Life Silver Catering Award and aspire to reach Gold standard within 12 months. The new contract will commence on 1 September 2023, for an initial 3year term with the option of additional 2 x 1-year extensions. The staff are currently employed by Aspens, to manage and oversee the catering service and therefore TUPE Regulations including pension rights will apply to this contract. The current value of the contract is approximately £120k per annum, which includes children, adult meals, and limited hospitality.
