The project will reinforce the reservoir spillway and adjoining embankments at Watergate Lake to ensure compliance with the Reservoirs Act 1975. The works are required to improve the safety and resilience of the reservoir infrastructure and to reduce risks to life and property during extreme flood events, including those with 1 in 1,000-year and 1 in 10,000-year return periods.
