In line with Schedule 5, Paragraph 6 of the Procurement Act 2023, this Direct Award is compliant on the basis that, due to an absence of competition for technical reasons, only this Supplier can provide the required waste disposal services, and there are no reasonable alternatives. No other recycling centre is located within a practical vicinity for the Bulk Rubbish Team to dispose of collected, fly tipped, rubbish more…items. Use of recycling centres further afield would result in significantly increased travel times, inefficient use of our operatives’ time, increased fuel costs and increased carbon pollution, all of which would adversely affect our service delivery.
